Don’t Like Your Nose? 2 Ways You Can Make It Better

Your nose is a prominent feature on your face, and if you do not like it, you likely hate for people to see your profile. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help with this problem so you will feel better about the way you look, two of which are listed below.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that can change the width of your nose at the bridge, reposition your nostrils, remove visual depressions or humps on the bridge, fix nostrils that are upturned or wide, and fix a nasal tip that is bulbous, enlarged, hooked, upturned, or drooping.

Rhinoplasties can be done as open or closed surgeries. In a closed surgery, the doctor will make all incisions inside your nose. In an open surgery, the incisions are made inside and outside your nose. The drawback to an open surgery is you may have some scarring.

Open rhinoplasty gives the doctor direct visualization of what they are doing, so they can manipulate the shape of your nose with more precision and control. The doctor will likely suggest open rhinoplasty if you are having large amounts of your nose changed.

If the changes you want to make are very small, the doctor may choose to do closed rhinoplasty. Closed rhynoplasties give you less swelling after the procedure, no scarring, and you will heal faster.

The doctor will use computer imaging to help you determine how you want your nose changed, as well as see the possible outcome after the surgery.

Facial Fillers

Another option you have is facial fillers. The drawback to facial fillers is that they will only temporarily change the shape of your nose. The fillers are used to smooth out small bumps and change the angle of your nose. The procedure is fast, not very painful, and can be done in the doctor's office. The doctor will inject the filler into different areas of your nose with a needle until the desired shaped is reached.

This would be a good choice for you if you are not sure if you want to have an actual surgery. Your doctor can tell you how long the filler will last for you. However, this is not a good option if you want major changes to your nose.
